Not all eyetrackers are created equally.
If your eye twitches faster or at the same speed as the eyetracker then the eyetracker may not be able to get the appropriate readings of the movement of the eye. In turn, the laser may not be able to place the right pulse of the laser in the appropriate section of the cornea because of the lack of information.

The ALLEGRETTO WAVE Excimer Laser encompasses both a 400Hz eyetracker with the ability to react at 3ms. This optimizes the ability of each pulse being placed on the appropriate spot on the cornea reducing erroneous misplaced pulses of the laser more common on older laser technology.



Slow or older lasers work on the same principle. Although the eye tracker can see the eye moving, it is too slow to react and may miss the targeted area of the cornea.

All-Laser Lasik No Blade, No Cutting

IntraLase Lasik is the most sophisticated technology available today. INTRALASE ® eye surgery is more predictable, more precise and ultimately safer than the traditional approach commonly used.

Prior to the bladeless LASIK procedure, doctors created corneal flaps with an instrument called a Microkeratome – which utilizes a metal blade.

We are the only centre in Cyprus to use intralase to make the corneal flap.



Unlike mechanical instruments, IntraLase technology is uniquely able to program the dimensions of your flap based on what’s best for your eye. Then the IntraLase laser creates your flap from below the surface of the cornea—without ever cutting it. How?

  1. Ultra–fast pulses of laser light position microscopic bubbles at a precise depth determined by the doctor.
  2. The laser light passes harmlessly through your cornea. Then the laser creates rows of these bubbles just beneath your corneal surface as it moves back and forth across your eye in a uniform plane.
  3. Next, the IntraLase laser stacks bubbles around your corneal diameter to create the edges of your flap. These bubbles are stacked at an angle that is determined by the doctor and is individualized to the way your eye is shaped.
  4. The process takes only about 15 seconds from start to finish—it’s quiet and it’s comfortable.
  5. The doctor then gently lifts the flap to allow for the second step of your LASIK treatment, with the Allegretto 400Hz Eye-Q Excimer Laser. When treatment is complete, the flap easily “locks” back into position and rapidly begins to heal.


The computer-guided INTRALASE ® FS laser is the most sophisticated and accurate system available today for the first step of LASIK, and this enables us to provide remarkable predictability and precision.
